Your Voice Matters
We know how important it is to feel heard.
After three years of regular listening sessions, we have gained an incredible amount of knowledge and insight. These sessions have been an invaluable resource for families and service providers alike.
Although our funding for regular listening events has ended, we still offer ad hoc sessions. However, we do require compensation to cover the time and delivery of the session. Additionally, we continue to offer 1-1 chats with families who need them and we encourage people to join our Facebook support group.
Raham Project hosts regular online and face to face events for ethnic communities in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and across the UK. Our events at Raham Project are designed to offer information, support and friendship through pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
Coffee and Chai
Bringing the community together to talk about everything motherhood.
The Raham Project monthly Coffee and Chai sessions are held online in our Facebook peer support group for mums.
These are casual drop-in sessions to meet other mothers, build friendships and talk about motherhood. Bring your baby, fold your washing, have a cup of tea…we don’t mind what you are doing, we would just love to connect with you!
Walk & Talk
Are you pregnant, a new parent or have children?
Join us every 4th Monday of the month to meet others for a walk round the park. Make friends and find out about pregnancy and parenting support.
Location: Central Park, Park Road, Peterborough
Date: every 4th Monday
Raham Project is successful thanks to the dedication and support of our volunteers.
What our volunteers do:
- Engage mothers in conversation in our Facebook peer support group
- Visit our local antenatal clinic to raise awareness of Raham Project’s services
- Translate our infographics
- Write evidence based content for our infographics and social media
- Shape the work of Raham Project in our steering group
- Organise social events for families
Want to volunteer?
We understand that applications forms can be a barrier for ethnic communities, so our process is simple.
Contact us, tell us you would like to help and we will support you to become a volunteer with Raham Project. You don’t need any previous experience, just a passion to help people.
If you work as a doula, breastfeeding supporter or similar we would welcome your support too.
Please contact us.
As a community interest company, we rely on funding and donations to support the running of the project.
We share the voices of mothers and partners with their experiences of maternity care to help shape local services for the future.
Your donation helps us continue our work.
